The Spring 2013 issue of Diabetic Living had three apps for your phone. I don’t know about you, but my phone is the one thing that is always with me, so I checked them all out. First up? GAIN fitness.
The GAIN fitness app is a cross training app. You can do a number of free workouts. You can also download other packs such as yoga. There is a GAIN Plan in the app. With this you set up a 4-week workout plan. You’ll get reminders along with a Plan B to help you make up for anything you miss. At the end, you’ll have feedback on how you did.
You pick a goal for yourself to get it all started. The goal can be Health, Fat Loss, or Muscle. You pick a location from Home, Gym, or On the Go. You pick a duration in minutes. Last – you pick a muscle focus such as overall body or the muscles in your legs or arms. Then you pick the days of the week and the time of day with reminder.
I’m trying Muscle, On the Go, 10 minutes, Balanced, with a warm up and cool down included, on Mon, Wed, and Fri at 6:15 am with a 16 minute reminder. I have no idea what it will be like but I do know this. Any time I get it done, it will be ten minutes more each day than I’m doing now.
